Our Swords

Our weapons are constructed of 1075 high carbon steel. They are full tang with either 1075 steel or bronze fittings depending on the style of the sword. Dark steel blades come with steel fittings, Bronze-Fit blades come with bronze fittings.

Our blades are given a differential spring temper. This means they are harder at the edges and tip and softer in the core. Our edges are about 53 Rockwell in the C range and the cores are around 48 Rockwell and each sword is covered by our limited lifetime warranty.

Our usual edge on these blades is what we call a "chisel" edge, designed for hacking thru armor, but we can also put sharp slashing edges and dull stage combat edges on them for a fee.

Two Handed Swords

There are times when a simple Bastard Sword will not do. Should you come up against an opponent with particularly heavy armor, you may want a more heavy-duty "can-opener". Enter the Two-handed Sword. The blade is longer so it swings in a wider arc for more circular force, more massive so it carries more momentum to impact, and the hilt is longer, allowing for greater leverage between the hands. All simple physics which add up to more penetration.

Broad Swords

Pretty much every culture on the planet has had some variation of the Broadsword at some time in thier history. This is because pretty much every culture on the planet has had some form of heavy body armor at some point in their history. If your weapon won't cut through heavy armor, and your opponent happens to be wearing some, the best you can hope to do is bludgeon him to death.

The version of Broadsword we most often choose to make is the Bastard Sword

Light enough to be used with one hand, thus allowing the use of a shield for defense, but with a long enough hilt that two hands can comfortably grip it if extra power is needed to hack thru a heavier armor.

Carefully counter-balanced to provide an optimum combination of agility and momentum, balances range from 3" to 6" out from the guard.

Our Bastard Swords online come in three  sizes (based on blade width), and two finishes, Dark Steel and Bronze-Fit.

All-Steel Bastard Sword

The All-Steel line have steel guards and pommels and a dark finish. These swords come with three different widths of blade. Please note some variation from the photo will occur, as all the blades are hand made.
